Im getting the same problem with the videos only playing 10 seconds of preview but the first time went to play it looked like it would have played them in full.
Surely there is an easy answer to this

All my videos were playing just fine on the ipad and iphone before the update.
I do have all the setting set like peter has stated several times.
Allow Pogoplug to optimize videos for playback to never.
all the videos are MP4 format. If i use active copy the video will play fine the first time
But after that i just get the 10 sec preview.
Also after i copy the file and login to my.pogoplug.com under media setting the video will be doing a full transcode.
I was thinking that was the whole purpose for turning off the optimize video for play back.
I am asking for help here because the pogoplug support is so slow. The last ticket I submitted was 13780 Video and songs will not play on the Xbox 360
That was only on Sept 16 with no help. I would love to return my two pogoplug for a refund if only I could.

I am having this problem too. All my mp4 files are from here: http://twit.tv/ipt

Hi friends,
I think I have the procedure now.
First plug in your drive, either hard drive or thumb drive.
Right click on the Pogoplug icon in the Windows system tray.
Click on Reload.
Go To to your mypogoplug.com account.
Click on Settings and then Media Settings.
Select the drive from the drop down window.
Under optimize your drives for video playback, select "Auto-
generate Full Transcode".
Then upload your video file.
If you want to upload a video file from another computer,
use the same entire procedure. After you do this once per
computer, then the next time, just upload the files to your
PP as the settings will already be correct.
This works for me, and I hope it does for you.

Yes it will, Phil.
In the mypogoplug site, you can, file by file have it transcode.
Since I use a slow thumb drive with my PP, that would take a very long time
as I had about 2gb worth of video. So I erased all the files and started
over again.

Well i did what you guys said above but im still having the 10 second problem. Any more ideas? Iphone 3gs on 4.2.1

You need to set to never and rename the video files this will improve video quality by stopping the transcode and playing the full quality and stop the 10 sec preview
