i couldnt agree more! i would also like to be able to schedule when it is sync'ed. i would like to be able to set it for a couple times a day, like once while im at work and once while im sleeping. that way it isn't always trying to copy every file i work on while im working on another. i have a second pogoplug at my parents house as another backup, and that can take a while to active copy. if that only happened once or twice a day, awesome!
This has probably been mentioned before, but I figure the more people that mention it the more likely it might be implemented. I would like the web panel's Active Copy to act as more of a sync rather than just a dumb dump from one folder to the next. For example, right now I have two external terabyte drives hooked up to my Pogoplug. I have an Active Copy set up between my main folder on Drive A and my main folder on Drive B. I'd like to be able to work primarily out of Drive A and have it so that if I delete some files in Drive A that it will go back and delete the same files in Drive B. It would be nice if we could set the timing of this as well. So that I can have it do the sync say in the middle of the night. This would allow the Pogoplug to do the syncing when I'm less likely to be using it. Also it will allow us some oops time as well. So if I delete something on accident in Drive A I can restore it from Drive B assuming I catch the error before the scheduled nightly sync.
A big reason I purchased the Pogoplug (other than the recent $45 Buy.com deal!) was the ability to hook up more than one drive to it and have the extra redundancy. If being in the IT field for a few years now has taught me anything it's that you should always have a good backup of your data. The Active Copy in it's current form does this for me, it just would be nice to not have to do an occasional cleanup of Drive B manually.
I hope I've been clear in my explanation.
