It works by plugging the printer INTO the Pogoplug
Categories: Pogoplug Classic
I got the firmware update. I have a HP Colorlaser Jet 1518ni. It's a network printer which is attached to my network. Should pogoplug see this printer if they are both on the same network?
It also works with printers on the same network. I see both of my network printers on the pogoplug, but neither is actually plugged into it.
Hmmm...mine does not see my networked printer. Is there any place where I can enter an IP address for the printer? I have Brother laser printer, maybe that's just not supported? Not sure it's a feature I would use that often as I don't print that often in the first place, but it might be nice to have every so often.
Currently, the firmware only accepts HP and Cannon printers manufactured after 2005 per press releases.
Actually, I need to correct my previous statement, HP and Epson printers since '05.
I have an HP 2600n color laserjet printer which is networked with a fixed internal IP address over the LAN and accessible by all computers on my home network but is not recognized/discovered by the pogoplug with 2.5.3 firmware. Does anyone know if this printer is supported, and if so, what I can do to allow the pogo to discover the printer? The printer is too large to fit next to my pogo for a wired connection and dont really want to have to buy the wireless thingie now.
Update
So I have found out that this particular printer Laserjet 3052 will not work if connected directly to the Pogoplug, but will work if it uses the internal print server connected on the same subnet as the Pogoplug with one caveat that I have noticed and which may be affecting other users, it doesn't seem to detect it right away.
You will notice that when you first go to the Print Settings section that it will not find the printer, to let it find the printer try connecting another printer or that same printer using the USB port and then the Pogoplug will then discover that USB printer connection and it will show up along with the networked printer and its device name. Select and print away.
Tested it and it is working fine.
Hi
I have tried to connect a Network Printer and a Printer using USB. In both the cases, pogo comes back and says "No Printers found".
For network printers is there a way to add the IP Address of the Printer.
For USB Printers how to diagnose the problem. I had my disk failure too, so had to delete all the .cdeta files.
Not a nice experience so far.
