I am now using PureSync, same functionality but free. Give it a shot...
Categories: Pogoplug Classic
Hello, I have read through the list of third party programs and found people have good success with Allwaysync and pogo plug.
I have set up my sync pair and tried to use it but always run into an issue where it will get to about 4-5% and then start to fail.
After that I cannot access my pogo plug for about 2-3 minutes either through using allwaysync or using windows explorer to see the drive. I can speed up this process by unplugging the HDD and resetting the pogo plug itself
I am only syncing about 1.4GB but all the files are around 5-6MB each.
I was wondering if anyone else had these issues?
I tried that and also used it with SyncToy and same results for all three. It seems this happens no matter what. I tried it on three different computers on three different networks.
Not sure if I have a defective device or if this is how it works. Seems like it works for files <1MB. Doesn't seem to want to stay on long enough for anything bigger.
Tried it with a folder full of pictures (about 300 photos) each about 1.5MB. copied a total of 4 photos then lost connection and I could not retrieve the drive until I reloaded the device.
Someone reassure me that I am not wasting my time with this "toy" of a device.
I was having similar problems, also occurred when just using Windows to copy files, except I'd lose all network connectivity. I was connecting via a wireless G router I'd had for a while. I finally replaced the router with a new, higher quality wireless N router, and have had no trouble since.
My wife, on the other hand is having a different problem. Every few months, almost all of her synced files all disappear into the recycle bin. It's alarming at first, but they just need to be restored. Not sure why Allway Sync decides they've all been deleted.
Yes I have been talking to the support team at pogoplug for about two months and they have come to a "solution" to only copy one directory at a time.
example: \profile\pictures\vacation (i cannot copy the profile folder, I would have to copy the pictures folder then copy the folders inside one at a time.) Hence one directory tree deep.
I have asked if this is a common problem and they danced around the issue a bit, but claimed that it was our network/computers/internet/software/files... even though we have tried this on different networks, different OS, different software versions. Still doesn't work and we had this since September!
