Is there something undocumented that I have to do to get my Wi-Fi adapter to show up? Is this another thing that will have to wait till the new 2.5 firmware is pushed out?

I got it today and followed the instructions but when I go to the Settings page there is nothing about Wireless as a separate tab or on any of the other tabs. Instructions say there will be a Wireless Settings tab on the left. Not on mine.

The wireless adapter is enabled with the new firmware - if your plug hasn't yet updated, the wireless adapter shouldn't work correctly.

If you do have the new firmware, a reboot of the Plug helps the wireless adapter to get recognized by the system (I had to do it once, and it worked fine)

I do not have the new firmware. I'm curious if ANYONE has it. Seems like no one who posts in this forum.

I just received the wireless adapter only to find out that my Pogoplug has not yet been updated to the 2.5 firmware required to have the wireless adapter working. In the "mypogoplug", my device says it is 2.1.2 and I cannot get it to list the wireless settings in the settings page. Wasn't this firmware supposed to have been rolled out at the end of September? Do I need to do something to get my Pogoplug to update to the new firmware? I'd like to try to use my Pogoplug wirelessly. Did I just waste my money getting the wireless adapter? Why don't I have the new firmware yet?

note that there is a bug in at least the Pro version where wireless SSID's are not found or displayed. I don't know if that applies to the add-on adapter or not. You might read one of these two threads to see if any of the workarounds work for you:

My own unit would not see any SSID until I brought another router in range, and then showed and let me connect. I am now connected and it works, but still nothing ever displays in my wireless settings tab.

If it doesn't update automatically after about 24 hours I would send an email, with your Pogoplug ID to support@pogoplug.

They should be able to check and send it.
