No, still waiting.
It might be a good idea as a poll of who is on what firmware version?

Anyone with 2.5 firmware and working Wirelesss Adapter?
It is now Sept 18, 2010 and no sign of it on my computer.
Please report if you have the latest firmware?
Or is it going to be vaporware from Pogoplug?
Hey Pogoplug, this is not looking very good for you.
Kris Raghu
I gave up waiting and purchased a switch, I originally purchased with pogo with hopes of immediate wireless, but to no avail. Now that I have this switch, it is finally up and running...just waiting on the trans-coding...but no biggy! I have to admit this device exceeds my expectations. It was a rocky start though. They need to provide a little more instruction material with the purchase. I think this would bring great relief to the support team.
Please be patient with us. We started the roll-out last week, and so far things are looking really good. We should have everybody updated by the end of the month.
I think that I speak for most of us in that we appreciate the quick replies that we usually receive from support and your quest to put out the best product possible. Our frustration and many of the questions that I see repeatedly asked seem to arise from a lack of proactive information from cloud informing of of known issues with the current UI, mobile apps, firmware etc. I for one had been informed that the 2.5 firmware would be rolled out in the first 2 weeks of September. How about a "known issues" post to keep the users informed and save the support staff from repeatedly answering the same questions?
Why can't we just download and upgrade the firmware like the majority of other products, Apple seems to have the right way of delivering firmware updates to it millions of users on the day of release.
With the release of the iPad app which mentions printing via the Pogoplug, without this update it's not possible, so why is it mentioned in the release of the iPad app when it was clearly known that it was not possible for users to do this as there was and still is no sign of the firmware update.
I wonder if it's a worry to do a mass firmware update on the support side?
Details of what actually happens with a firmware update would be a good idea.
John,
Well said. Pogoplug are treating their loyal users as idiots. I changed from an Iomega iConnect to Pogoplug, if I knew the after sales service was going to be this poor I wouldn't have changed.
Pogoplug - get your finger out and give us the firmware upgrade, if it really exists !!!
31 August 2010
The print feature that we announced at the beginning of summer ...... The firmware update begins rolling out to Pogoplug users today, and all users should have the update by the end of the week.
I wonder if the press release has been re-issued?
Recived this from support today---
Thank you for contacting Pogoplug Support.
These settings won't be available until an upcoming firmware update scheduled to automatically push to Pogoplug by the end of September. The most recent firmware version is 2.5; you can view this on the Settings page at my.pogoplug.com, directly below the heading "Your Pogoplug enabled devices".
Apologies if this wasn't made clear in our announcement of Print functionality.
I am solving this ticket but feel free to contact Pogoplug in the future.
Kind Regards,
From what this says it could be the end of September
Please, everybody, be patient with the folks at Pogoplug. They worked hard to get this firmware upgrade right, and while it's taken longer than initially announced to get it rolled out, they've been open with us on the forums here and in support tickets as to the status and timeframe - heck, they posted in this thread just today, and many others too. Remember also, these are free upgrades that are continuing to add features the Pogoplug didn't have before :)
@imac_bhoy And yes, the firmware update exists. Many users here have received it already.
Peter, many thanks, any free update is always welcome in these very hard times.
I think the point is just excitement to be able to do the things the upgrade will give offer.
I do find having the options within the GUI side but not being enabled, a very big tease in many ways.
Would be nice to read some feedback from someone who has been upgraded with firmware 2.5
It is always appreciated when someone from Pogoplug responds, and I'm sure the feedback they take from this excellent site is very useful for them.
(hint hint A manual firmware upload option as well as the automatic option, in the same way as Apple performs it's updates to iPhone/iPod/iPad)
John
From a different view it's kept the forum very busy.
Peter,
Thanks for your prompt response as always. It's great that someone is willing to take the time to put everyone in the picture regarding progress, rather than some of the other large faceless companies.
I think there is a common theme with most hardware/software companies, Apple being one of them to announce new features and to whip everyone up into a frenzy before the product is ready for primetime.
Patiently waiting.
PS. Keep up the good work, you truly have a great product, which no-one in my opinion has came close to. I would be willing to pay a small fee for additional features like an iTunes media server or Time Machine backup
Thanks,
Jim
@JohnB & imac - Thanks and well said. I know that so many people here have been excited to try the new features and it's always hard to wait for cool stuff :)
That being said, you can also contact Pogoplug support about having not yet received the firmware, they might be able to help, but I'd wait another week or so since they have indicated the rollout will be happening through September.
It sounds like they aren't too sure the firmware upgrade actually works and are rolling it out to a small chunk to see what happens. From what I've seen of the support so far, it isn't good at all. I've heard the term Playtex in this context - ie no visible signs of support..
People need to remember that whilst good news travels fast, bad news travels faster. I'd like to see if it's better that what I have.
Looks like they promised more than they could deliver. Also, they are taking care of the "Biz" users because they see better ROI in that. Finally, they are devoting resources to gain market share for the i- "Apple" devices; don't want to get caught having the "train" leave you behind. The last time a company pulled something like this and ignored pleas from their users was SanDisk and their WiFi Sansa Connect. There's no feeling like getting "dumped" and not having the person return your phone calls, huh? I made a vow and have since then kept it- I will never buy a SanDisk device again.
seagate GoFlex Net shipps with this firmware, actually 2.5.1
Some good stuff but also some major issues... For instance the samba share doesn't have any security AT ALL!!! All data is just wide open on the network. A very poor decision indeed, or it is a big bug... Waiting for a hack to add a password to this, as I cannot for the life of me start using a completely unsecure network share...
A few other issues as well. Deleted Active Copy commands seem to stick around. Wiping the drive or wiping the Pogoplug file on the root is the only way to stop it...
id rather have it right the first time, than have to quickly fix a broken firmware or worse yet, brick my unit.
How do you see the firmware version?
In settings menu it says
UI Version: 2.5.2
Service Version: 2.5.2
Device 2.1.2
Which one is the firmware?
If I am on the newest firmware, I can easily say there is not too much to tell :(
File transfer rate around 1mb per second and changes around 600kb to 2mb with MacOS driver on LAN. FAIL!
NO samba or sshfs. Takes hours to transfer big files.
Streaming to PS3 works fine some times chubby might be related to wireless connectivity
Print Settings (it says beta) and does not allow me to enable it
Here is the full list of the menu
Account Settings
General Settings
Social Settings
Media Settings
Security Settings
Upload Settings
Print Settings
Planning to get FreeAgent Dockstar while it is on sale 40$!!!
it is cheaper and has SAMBA access with higher write read performance
To sum up if you just want to display/stream your files it works fine but not a good option as fully functional NAS device with its poor write/read performance.

The "Device" number is the firmware version. In your case then you are at 2.1.2.
Came in from work today to notice pogoplug light was flashing amber, was this an indication that you guys tried to push an update to my unit and it failed ?
So what happened to getting it right and the delay, or is the flashing amber light a new feature.
