Ever since I installed Pogoplug Drive 2.1.2 for Mac on my Snow Leopard (10.6.4) Mac mini, I now get kernel panics when using VMWare (3.1.1) and Win XP accessing one of the mounted drives. Everything crashes hard, really hard. I've update MacFuse from 2.0.3 to 2.1.5beta and now 2.1.7beta, all with no luck.
I also want to bail on PP Drive as it also isn't Spotlight searchable (that is huge!), and you can't hide it or keep it in the dock on my Tiger MBP. Seems like poorly written software to me.
Is there any alternatives? I thought the Pogoplug was a NAS when I bought it and was surprised to learn there wasn't NFS, AFP or much less Samba available. As a sidenote I did install SMB and can connect with XBMC, but Snow Leopard has problems (apparently these are well know and some stricter than normal implementation by Apple).
Other options anyone? TIA!

No alternatives? And now I've run into two more issues with Pogoplug Drive 2.1.2 for Mac.
1) Failed Starting Drive Error: Exit Code 0 -- fixed by having to reinstall the software. Really?
2) After drives are mounted they're showing the wrong size remaining on the disk.
Wow. These, along with limits of functionality as a NAS, is looking to push me to return the device. Bummer.
