I purchased a GoFlex Net wanting a network storage device.

All Iwant is to be able to use several devices (not computers, not phones) to connect t a file share that is password protected...

Anyway to do this???

Unfortuneately, you need to access the the PogoPlug "interface" in order to set the Windows File Share (WFS) option. After this feature is turned on, you can access the drives from \\FAxxxxx

Does the GoFlex net have WFS on it? Only confirmed one I know of having WFS is the dockstar. (curious)

I've been "trying" a GoFlex Net since Monday. It does have WFS in the current UI. After WFS is turned to "Read / Write" you can access directly without the PogoPlug system. However, there does not seem to have "passwords." I will have to try the software at one point.

Only problem is that there is no security on the device as a "network Storage" device. Once you open it up to wfs, anyone who can get on your network can get to all the files. So, there's no password protection to it at all...

If you understand linux, however, you can lock it down a bit through some hacks... but still not very secure.
