I'm not sure if other users are having issues with this, but I've tried this several times on my pogoplug biz and it doesn't seem to work. I see the option to make it web view, and click it. I try to invite myself (remembering to sign out) and I'm still able to download the file? Anyone else try this?

EDIT: OK, I just realized that if you share the folder, you can set it to web view only. If you share the file (in the folder) the user is able to download it. I'm sure it will be fixed in a firmware revision. Just wanted to bring this bug to your attention.

Hey guys, I cannot reproduce this bug. Take a look at the workflows below and let me know if you are doing something different:

What I've tried:

1) Log into my Pogoplug account with a Pogoplug Biz registered to it
2) Right-click on a file on the Pogoplug Biz and select Share
3) Enter the email address of the user with whom I want to share
4) Set the share to be Web View Only
5) Go to More Sharing Options and make sure "require sign in" is unchecked
6) Sign out
7) Sign into email account of the address to which you shared the file
8) Click the link in the email to view the share

Result: I can only preview the file; I cannot download it

9) Click the "Click here" link at the top of the page to create a Pogoplug acct (or to sign in if an account with that email address already exists)
10) Create a password if one does not exists and then sign in, or just sign in if you already have an account

Result: The shared file can only be previewed; I cannot download it

I checked this out with:

- sharing a single file
- sharing a folder with files inside of it
- sharing a folder with folders and files inside of it, and files inside the embedded folders

In no case was I ever given the option to download files.

Falco, when you are inviting yourself, to test if the web view functions correctly, do you use as the share an email address you have already registered with pogoplug for that device? If so, would that allow you as the registered owner to have full access rights anyway?

I don't have this facility so cannot test. Just a thought ..... it may not be relevant!

Remember, its not what life does to you, but what you do with what life does to you, that matters.

OK Fixed!

It wasn't working because i was using my pogoplug's registered email address as the email address to invite. That's why.

I am having the same problem as the original post.

I have learned that if you share the folder read only, the contents can be download. But if you share the files individually within the folder and set to read only, they are not downloadable.

I have shared these folders out to non admin users.

Just got me a pogoplug biz.

I have two e-mails. One I used to register my pp and the other created to test. I needed to have my customer view a pic only but cannot download it. So I shared the folder of pics to "Web".

Using the other email to invite, I see that invited account shows "Preview" only option in drop menu but when the pic comes up, there is a "download" button present. Why?

What's confusing is that why is view share option showing a download option in dropdown menu?
