It would be good to get some feedback from Pogoplug themselves on this issue. As well as seeing it in another post, I also have the same bug which essentially renders the whole device useless for me.
Categories: iPhone & iDevices
So far all I have done with the Pogoplug is 'active copy' my photos. I can access them from my computers in the web browser but using the iPad app when I dig down through the folders to the images and try to look at them I get 'connection error'
I can see and run mpeg files though.
Any ideas?
The ipad app does not support editing of documents. Also streaming of video does not work from the iPad app at this time. Disappointed in this effort. Hoping both of these get added or corrected very soon.
I can live with not being able to edit the images. Being able to view them however I'd put in the category of 'fundamental'. Luckily I bought this device a short time ago so I'm still able to send it back. Not fit for purpose would be my reason for the return. it's a real shame as some time ago i was looking at developing a distributed system using plug computing. I was rather looking forward to using the pogoplug. Oh well, back to the shop it is...
1. Log into your pogo web account
2. Go to settings / media settings
3. Change generate photo and video thumbnails from "never" to "as soon as possible"
4. Click on "apply below changes"
5. Finally press "rescan" below and your done
Hope it helps
You have to enable these settings on the web view first and then it will work on the iPad
