I recently had a problem with my Mac HD and had to repair the permissions on it, since then I can no longer access my Pogoplug drive in any way, it can't be found in finder or on the desktop. I use it to stream all my music so I'm pretty lost!

Can anyone tell me how to get my hard drives back?

Can you see them on my.pogoplug.com ok? If so you may need to to a re-install of the drive program.

I can see them online, I have tried re-installing the drive program but it makes no difference

I had a similar problem that was easily fixed with a permissions repair - I'm surprised that didn't work for you. One pretty basic thing to try is rebooting the hard drive, your machine, and the Pogoplug and trying again. Sometimes simple things like that can work wonders!

samsbit, as discussed, run the uninstallation script I sent you and open a support ticket with us if that doesn't fix the problem.

This solution has worked, thankyou very much.

I am having the same problem. Can you send me the uninstall script?

I also am having a problem seeing my drives. I can't even see them when I go to my.pogoplug.com

If I disconnect them from the Pogoplug and connect them to my MacBookPro then I can access the drive.

The only drive I see when I start Pogoplug is "Files shared with me"

Hi

Can you also send me the uninstall script, my drive also does not shows up on the desktop, although it is listed in grey in the drop down menu from the top menu bar!

Thanks

Hello,

I have the same issue. The Pogoplug drive application can run but no pogo drive is shown on the desktop or in the finder. Active copy can still work meaning it knows about my drive, for some reason it just can't be mounted.

I've tried uninstall using the unix script and reinstall the application a few times already, and repairing permissions in between, but still no luck.

Is there anything else worth trying?

Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary,

When Finder is in focus:

- Go to Finder -> Preferences (cmd+,).
- In the General pane, under "Show these items on the desktop", make sure External disks checked
- In the Sidebar pane, under "Devices", make sure External disks is checked

Please let me know if this fixes the problem.

Hi Nicky,

I can confirm External disks option are checked in both location, but still no PogoPlug drive :(

Hi @Gary.Z

To eliminate an issue with this particular user profile, please create a new user with Admin privileges, login to the new profile, download, install and run the Drive App.

Does your Pogoplug appear in Finder now?

I have the same issue. Pogoplug drive works fine with the other 3 macs in our office, but it's not working on my computer. I tried uninstalling with no avail. Hard disks and External disks are checked to be shown in Finder prefs. I've also tried my account on other computers (works) and another account on my computer (doesn't work) so it looks like the problem is localized to my mac.

I have a brand new Mac Pro running 10.6.4

Ryan and Gary,

If you uncheck "Enable multi-drive mode" in the Pogoplug Drive Preferences (Settings pane), does that allow the single "Pogoplug" drive to mount?

The Pogoplug drive still doesn't mount after unchecking this option and restarting the application.  I'm not sure if it's relevant, but my home folder is on a seperate drive (RAID actually) from my boot folder.  I'm going to try installing the app under a different user and see if that makes a difference.

Ryan and Gary

Are either you running Snow Leopard in 64 bit kernel mode?

Yes, and I'm actually the only one in the office with a 64-bit capable mac.  I wonder if that could be the problem.

Installing under a different user had the same results, so it doesn't seem to be a conflicting application.

My problem was running the kernel in 64-bit mode. I had enabled that to see what would happen awhile ago, and it turns out that Pogoplug Drive is not compatible with the 64-bit kernel. Running in 32-bit kernel mode works on my system.

September 24, 2010 4:41 AM

Yes my machine runs in 64 bits as well. Maybe that's it. I'm not home at the moment but will try later.

Starting with a 32-bit kernel worked for me.  It's a bit of a bummer that I have to downgrade my whole system (slightly) just for one program to work.  Hopefully this'll be fixed soon.

Thanks for your help,
Ryan!
