Hi Sid. If I'm understanding you correctly, it sounds like Active Copy is the right solution for you. You can set Active Copy to automatically back up certain folders on your hard drives. And fortunately for you, it comes as a free service built into the Pogoplug. Did that answer your question?

Hey guys. Its great to see a pogoplug community so commited to supoorting, and socializing with other POGOPLUGERS. My Name is Sid and I just bought a pogoplug about a week ago mainly for the purpose of sharing files to friends and family who live all over the place.
I have one main concern thats been in my thoughts since last week, and i cannot seem to find a solution for it. I am currently in the process of transferring my files from my desktop to my external hard drive. SO all my important documents, music, photos and videos that I and my family want to view will be in the external drive. What if that drive fails while connected to my pogoplug?? I will ovbiously loose everything right??
HOw can i prevent losing data?? Is there a way to continously back up the drive connected to the pogoplug? or can i buy raid hard drives??
I really need your expert opinions guys, as I travel a lot, and I am leaving the country in a month and coming back in 4 months. while i am away i will be adding photos and videos from abroad and will also be looking for important work documents from my pogoplug. So I want to make sure that my data is safe before i leave. How can i Back up all my data?> I want a low cost solution if possible.
i hope you guys understand what i am trying to say,
please help out a brother, and take care :)

Hi JJ, thanks for the quick reply.
So active copy lets me back up my main drive to another drive that can me hooked to the pogoplug? or does it have to connected somewhere else??
and one more thing, I was thinking of buying this external hard drive and using it as the MAIN one, and using my old external as a backup. Do you think this will work...? The reason I was looking at this is because it is raid capable, added level of data security i guess :)
