i just got mine in the mail and so far its been a complete waste of 40$.  I can't stream to my xbox at all.  The transcoding takes 10+ hours for a standard 700mb avi movie.  Can anyone assist me in actually get this POS to work or am i just screwed?  I have tried setting up the xbox sharing option from the media settings and nothing at all pops up.  Looking for some help.  So far nothing i have tried works.

Have you contacted CEi's tech support? They're pretty good.

Here's how I enabled very poor, stuttering, blocky streaming to my Xbox 360. I am also wondering if I wasted money on my Seagate Dockstar. I can stream from my PC without any problems.

Log into my.pogoplug.com
Click on SETTINGS (upper right)
Click on Media Settings (left pane)
Click on "settings" (next to your device name, i.e. Seagate Freeagent)
Select "Never" for "Allow Pogoplug to optimize videos for playback:"

Okay, I need to amend my previous post. The movie I was streaming was the problem, and now streams to the Xbox are fine - no stuttering or artifacts. In fact, the quality is very good.

However, the transcoding is very, very slow. I think my 700mb avi movies are taking about 6.5 hours to transcode.

Do the movies need to be transcoded to be played via the Xbox? I assumed that the transcoding was just for smartphone/web playback (via the my.pogoplug.com interface). Shouldn't the Xbox be able to play the untranscoded files the same way it plays them directly from my computer?
