I received my Pogoplug this morning, setup went effortlessly, then tried to copy a folder of data from my home drive to the Pogoplug drive.

Pogoplug refused with an arcane error.

I have a dreadful feeling this thing ONLY deals with photos/videos/music files of specific type.

Please, somebody, tell me I'm wrong.

You are wrong.

I have copied anything and everything to PP directories from my Mac -- even files without a type or suffix, i.e. "foo".

So it is not the kind of files that are giving you the error.

If possible, could you share the arcane error and provide some add'l information such as your system's OS? This is certainly not typical and maybe someone can help, provided that more details are available.

Mac, OSX 10.6.4.
The dreaded error -36.

I want to share my Ableton Live project folders with my bandmates, if I drag and drop via the finder with the Pogoplug application active, it starts to transfer then gives the -36 error.
When I examine the drive, the folder is there, but incomplete of course.

If I plug the drive straight into the Mac, I can just copy the folder over using the finder, then plug it back in to the Pogo.
I have done this and sent a share mail to my friends to see what happens.

I'm disappointed to find this basic functionality doesn't work out of the box.

I am not a Mac user (sorry) so I can't claim any level of expertise, but it does appear that Error Code -36 is a known error when transferring folders from Mac to other devices. This link may help...
