I made the mistake of using Drive for Windows again.  I opened up two explorer windows and tried to copy a folder from one sub folder to another.  Silly me, I know this just causes problems, but I forgot.

The folder on the "to" location gets created but then I get an error message about not being able to create it.  Then Explorer hangs when I try to look in it.  Now I'm waiting for my.pogoplug.com to stop spinning when I try to display it  If I recall from my last attempt the drive will become in accessable and I'll need to reboot the plug.

Useless software.

Otherwise the plug is reasonably good.  I came back from vacation needing to restart the plug, sigh, but I've lowered my expectations so it's not to annoying.

HA - I just checked my.pogoplug.com again, yup drive not available.  What a joke.

Wait, it gets better. The original folder is GONE, not only did this piece of crap software fail to copy it, it moved it, deleting the original before actually completing the copy.

Fortunately I have a backup. Wow, simply wow.

Using my.pogoplug.com I deleted the "bad" folder on the "to" drive. I was a bit surprised as the last time that happened I wasn't even able to delete. Okay, I think, maybe I can just restore from my backup. Using my.pogoplug again, I try the copy. The "Copy Progress" box has been sitting there staring at me with no progress for 10 minutes now.

I suspect I'll have to, like last time, remove the drive from the plug and attach to a windows box to chkdsk it. Sad

I may be narrowing down the circumstances around my problem. Up until now I've been dragging folders from one explorer window to another.

I tried something different, I copied a bunch of folders by right clicking on the folder, selecting copy then doing the same on the "to" folder and selected paste. The all copied without incident.

This morning, in a hurry, I forgot and tried to drag again, same thing, same error same result. Now I'm in Pogoplug hell where the explorer hangs when trying to see the failed "to" folder and my.pogoplug.com hangs then I try to eject and it takes forever. Finally it ejected, I powered off/on the drive, hopefully the plug will see it soon.

Personal cloud appliance, a great a idea, but from from realized.

HA - who am I kidding - no luck so now it's time to go through the Pogoplug dance where I need to play around and try to get it to work again. I'm now trying to eject the "good" drive, yawn, the "eject drive" window just sits there spinning. Then I'll need to reboot it and maybe chkdsk (on windows) one or both of my drives then try all over again.

Is it me? I'm off now for a long weekend and when I return I think I'm done with the this product and off to try the Tonido Plug.

Oh, another annoyance. Drive often doesn't "remember" me even though I have remember me checked. But then again neither does my.pogoplug.com but I never complained about that because that could be because I use Chrome,

Hey David,

I am unable to reproduce the bug you are stating here. This is what I am trying.

- Launch Drive App
- Open one instance of a Drive App-mounted drive in one explorer window and another instance of the same drive in another explorer window
- Right-click on a folder in Explorer Window 1 and drag to a different folder in Explorer Window 2
- Release mouse button and select "Copy here"

Result: The files are copied and I have no problems accessing any of the contents of my drive. There is no explorer hang and my.pogoplug.com works as expected.

Some questions for you:

- Is this the same way you are trying to copy?
- What OS are you using and is it 32 or 64 bit?
- How is your Pogoplug drive formatted?
- What version of the Drive App are you using?

Regarding Remember Me, I suspect it works differently than you expect:

In both the Drive App and my.pogoplug.com, checking that button just keeps you signed in. Once you sign out, you are no longer remembered and you have to re-enter your credentials. Also, at my.pogoplug.com, your login state is stored in a cookie, so if you ever clear your browser cookies and history, then you will be signed out the next time you go to the site. Make sense?

Hi,
I have:

Windows XP Service Pack3
1T WD Hard Drive with NTFS format
Pogo Plug behind D-Link router
Latest drivers and updates to all above as of October.28.2010

Problem:

In LAN mode my Pogo Plug ignores deleting files from HDD.
It will delete file with some lag and after 5sec
the file is restore back to original location?
This problem is not occurring if Pogo Plug is in Internet mode.

The use of Pogo Plug as a "LAN server" is crucial for my home network,
Internet option is secondary choice.

Thank You for Help and time!
