1) There is no way to "hide" the second drive unfortunately
2) The index won't get overwritten continuously - .cedata (the hidden folder where the index lives on your drives) is ignored by Active copy, so the Drive2 will churn as it indexes everything, but it will only have its index updated as you add files to Drive 1, not be constantly overwritten
Hi,
I just set up my Seagate Dockstar and it's working great as far as I can tell. My primary use is as a backup of my photos, HD home movies, and music. I've set it up with two 2TB drives and I'm using activie copy to keep Drive#1 coped to Drive#2.
My questions is if there is anyway to "HIDE" drive#2. I don't want to see it as a drive under windows nor on the web interface. Drive#2 is completely redundant data (a mirror of drive#1) so there is no reason to even know about it.
I relaize this is essentially RAID1 and I've serched the formum for info about that but I haven't found anything. I don't care about a"real" software RAID solution or how quickly the data is mirrored, etc. Everything is working the way I want it to, I just want to HIDE drive#2. The system is still indexing my photos and movies and I think it's doing it for drive #2 which is a complete waste of time. Plus, since I'm mirroring at the ROOT level of the drive, won't the index for drive#2 get overwritten anyways?
Thanks
