So there was a small, water-based issue in my house recently.  Insurance has been invoked, and at least until the repair guys show up, all is dry again.

Surprisingly, my pogoplug seemed to stop working when it got wet.  Very wet.  Not underwater, more like in a fountain, while running.

So I'm ordering a new one, but I need to know, do I need to recreate all of the shares?  Miraculously the Drobo survived unscathed, so I have the same storage to plug into a new pogoplug once it gets here.  What hoops need jumping through to set all right again?

Help!?

I'm not certain you'll need to change anything on the Drobo, but I'm pretty sure the new Pogo will re-index the media/thumbnails/etc and probably attempt to re-encode any video content (unless you tell it not to) - but I don't think you'll need to change directories or shares around on the Drobo.

Honestly, I think you'll have a much better idea of what to do once your new Pogo arrives, but I wouldn't change anything for now.

Thoughts everyone? Am I way off base here?

@lythander - so sorry to hear about the house! The good news is that you won't have to have all your thumbnails and videos regenerate - all of that is stored on on your hard drive (go Drobo!).

Unfortunately you will have to create the shares all over again; but hopefully that wont take too long - hope that's helpful!

That's what I was afraid of (recreating the shares,) but I'll survive. I think the PS is what died, once I'm sure it's dry I'm going to try a different power source for the board that was in the pogo and see if it's still alive.
