I had the same problem with a 'new' Pogoplug I bought via eBay. I contacted support who requested proof of purchase. They then deactivated the Pogoplug from the old account, allowing me to activate it normally.
All sorted within a few hours!

I just received my Seagate Dockstar that I bought Online and I am getting the following message :
This Pogoplug enabled device has already been activated
Verify that you entered the correct unique identifier. If you are certain that you entered the correct unique identifier, please sign in to see if it is already registered to your account.
If you need additional help, please contact Pogoplug support
I have verified that I am in fact entering the correct "unique identifier". Can anyone help?
I just got an email from Pogoplug tech support asking me for that proof of purchase which was the following:
GoFlex Pro - Amazon.com
Dockstar - Newegg.com
I am awaiting their reply.
