Just started the xbox and browsed to the videos, pogoplug is there.

Grumble 1:

All my videos are listed.  IN one HUGE list.

Any chance of being able to navigate by folders?

Grumble 2:

It only shows the first ten seconds of any vid!!  Not happy with this.  Surly I don't need to transcode ALL of my vids for this to work?  That would take days.

I'd previously been using twonky media on an ubuntu server box and, though there were some files the xbox couldn't cope with, it plays 90% of the files (mostly avi) with no hassle.

The reason for buying this was so that I could retire the power hungry desktop server and still stream to the xbox.....

1) - that's something we'll have to work on in an update to the feature - it's not currently something that is easy to do.

2) You do not need to transcode all your vids - right now you have transcoding set to transcode preview, so when the Xbox asks for videos it gets that 10 second preview. If you go to my.pogoplug.com, settings, media settings, then click the settings link next to the name of your drive you should get a dialog called Media Processing Options - set "Allow Pogoplug to optimize videos for playback:" to Never, and your full videos will play

In the meantime if you want your videos in folders I use Tversity. Also Playon and ORB does this. It requires you to have your computer on but it will better organize your videos. This is something I too hope will happen in the next update

Thanks for the response. I'd already also raised this as a support ticket so got it sorted a few days ago.

Yes, #1 really needs to be implemented! Having a single list of thousands of videos is not very useful.
