I haven't heard of this being a common problem, at least, postings here don't seem to reflect this being a widespread issue. I would contact Pogoplug support to see if they can help.

Sometimes people receive their email notification and sometimes they don't. I can't figure out what the problem is. I've had them check their junk folders. Is this a common problem? If I can't figure this out, it's going to nullify the usefullness of the device.
same problem here. Emails NEVER go out. The main reason that I bought this is to share photos and so forth. I can't use it at this point. I'm surprised that support hasn't addressed this. I opened a problem with support, I'll see what response I get..
Our sharing-partners got email notifications (lots of them.....) and we did not upload new files.......
