I set up a bunch of movie (wmv and mjpeg avi) files on a thumb drive and set up the PogoPlug settings to transcode the videos.

The iPhone app will play the mjpeg avi files, but it won't play the WMV files.  The WMV files just load and immediately exit.

I can go to https://my.pogoplug.com in Safari on my iPhone and then I can view the transcoded WMV files there so I know transcoding works.

Isn't the app supposed to play the transcoded views?

I found what appears to be a work around. If I got into the "Moves" folder and try to play a WMV after loading the app it won't work. I'll just get a "loading movie..." quicktime screen for a second and then it exits. To get things working, I have to go into the drive itself and find a .wmv file and play that. It will play. Once I do that, then any .wmv in the "Movies" folder will also play until I close and reopen the app. At which point I'll have to repeat the work around.

This works via WiFi. I'm not sure if it will work via 3G, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Iphone really does not play WMV files but it does play mp4 files. I have the same problem even with mp4 files it seems that when you go into the native movie file on the iphone it does not play. But if I go into the drive it does play. Now I have found that this does not work with even all mp4 files. I have found the reason why is the size of the mp4 file I have some mp4 files that are 700mb to a gig and pogoplug says eh no not playing that.
