@bjchiang - what version of windows are you running? 32 or 64 bit? Have you tried running as administrator?
I recently purchased the Seagate NetMedia device and two Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex drives to go with it. Pogoplug works great! I can access my drives easily via the "My Pogoplug" website.
However, I'm having trouble using the "Pogoplug Drive 2.12 for Windows" application. I noticed that the when I start up my desktop PC, I get the window prompting me for a username and password. However, when I type in my password, it returns with "Email/Password incorrect".
At first, I thought I merely fat-fingered my password; but it still would not grant me access. I re-installed the application -- no luck. I changed the password via the "My Pogoplug" website: I'm assuming it the application authenticates from the website -- still no luck.
It's not critical for me to not use this application (it's more of a nuisance) since I can use the "My Pogoplug" site, but it is very convenient to access my files as a "local drive".
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can correct this? Please advise. Thanks.
Jon:
Thanks for replying so quickly.
I have a Dell desktop running Windows XP. It's the 2002 version (yikes!) SP3.
I did try running as administrator. I did get a response from Pogoplug Support. I'll make a subsequent regarding information from that e-mail thread soon.

This was my reply to Christopher at Pogoplug Support (his original e-mail is below); I wasn't able to attach the screenshot I reference below, but it is
the page asking "Select media for Active Copy - you can always change this later"

|Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
|
|I did try your suggestion: I was able to get more reliable behavior from the |application. However, I've run into another slightly more benign problem.
|
|I can now get the Pogoplug Drive 2.1.2 application to run; I enter my user ID
|and password (I no longer get the email user/password incorrect message!)
|and I get to the following screen (please see the screen shot I saved in Word).
|
|When I get to this screen, regardless of what I click I can not get the |application to go to the main page - it just freezes. Yet when I check the |task monitor, it appears to be running correctly.
|
|Did I delete more than I should have from the registry? The "ppfs" directory I |originally removed was located
|
| HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Pogoplug > ppfs

Thank you for contacting Pogoplug Support and your enthusiasm!
It is possible the registry settings for the Pogoplug Drive Application
have become corrupted.
Exit Pogoplug Drive App.
Begin typing "regedit" in the Run or Search box at the Start menu.
Click regedit to start the Registry editor.
Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Expand folder Pogoplug
Delete ppfs sub-folder
Restart the Drive App
I am assigning this ticket to Adam so he may follow up with you.

Thank you to Christopher and Adam at Pogoplug Support.
The problem appears to be caused by the fact that (a) my registry on my desktop was messed up and the ppfs folder had to be removed from the Pogoplug entry, and (b) my anti-virus software was interfering with the Pogoplug Drive 2.1.2 app.
By disabling the anti-virus software (actually I had to un-install it, but this is because of another separate issue with the anti-virus software), it allowed the app to work correctly.

I also have a similar problem, we have three machines all running xp sp3 and when we restart our machines generally it wont let us login as it say we have a incorrect username and password, if we then try to do a web login it says the same. so we end up resetting our passwords to exactly what they were before.
this eems to happen 90% of the time when we resart our pcs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of pogo drive and that hasnt worked.
cheers
@avit_now - have you tried the sequence of customer support steps that bjchiang did?
Exit Pogoplug Drive App.
Begin typing "regedit" in the Run or Search box at the Start menu.
Click regedit to start the Registry editor.
Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Expand folder Pogoplug
Delete ppfs sub-folder
Restart the Drive App
I'm having the same issue, but on Mac OSX... Sort of frustrating. It is also not recognizing my Mac Journaled partitions...
Waiting to hear back from support.
Scratch that... the journaled partitions just came up! Took a good 20 - 30 minutes after a reboot of the device and drives.
Still riding with the password issues.
OK, did as outlined ...
Exit Pogoplug Drive App.
Begin typing "regedit" in the Run or Search box at the Start menu.
Click regedit to start the Registry editor.
Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Expand folder Software
Expand folder Pogoplug
Delete ppfs sub-folder
Restart the Drive App
Now can log on, but hangs on the "Select media for active copy" screen.
