I've been looking for a file-sharing solution like this for a while. As a new PP owner of all of two days, I've been both impressed and perplexed by the range of features the product offers - and some of its shortcomings.

I won't list all the good features - you know them - but I'd like to mention a few problems that I haven't managed to find answers to by trawling through the threads.

*Sending out an E-mail sharing notice just flat out doesn't work for me - and quite a few others, it seems from reading here. I tried a variety of mail addresses and the only one that got through was my account mail. Will try support on this but it would be nice for an admin to address this issue up-front

*As a registered PP owner - why do I need to open another account to use the forums and yet another, it would seem, to get support.

*I could be wrong (I hope I am) but it seems to me that the only form of password protection offered for a shared file is the one created by a user when they open a PP account. So if somebody accesses the shared link, theoretically they can use it with their own generated password. Not exactly reassuring.

*I know that low-resolution thumbnails on generated for display, and it's not that important, but the ones I see (particularly of folder icons) are so low resolution that they're positively smeary. They don't look like this in the video tutorials so maybe I'm doing something wrong.

*The info I really needed: how to by-pass the super-long transcoding process, was hidden away in a thread. It should be posted up front somewhere.

(For anyone reading this: you set "transcode" to "never" and you use an app like Adobe Media Player or Handbrake to roll your own streaming files on your PC before transfer. I have an Elgato Turbo USB stick which does a great job of knocking out h.264 ready files - worth the now reduced price)

There are other little niggles I share with posters here (constant log-outs being one) but, on the whole, a potentially great piece of kit - still with a few rough edges. I'm not sorry (yet) I bought one.
