I have the same problem. Pogo works great on all of my linux boxes. But we have one MS Vista computer in the house and it will not auto log in like the 4 Linux computers do.
Every time i my computer starts up pogo asks for my username and password even though i have the "remember" box checked.
Same problem - on 5 different Windows PCs running everything from XP to Vista to Windows 7. Some have Firefox set as the default internet browser. Others have Internet Explorer. Some use the software app, others the browser interface.
The only common thing I can find is that this problem happens first thing in the morning when I boot any one of the PCs. If I boot another one without signing on to Pogoplug, the 2nd PC has the same problem. If I sign onto Pogoplug and then boot the 2nd PC, there's no problem on the 2nd PC. Thus, the problem seems to be with Pogoplug, not the PCs. Also, it happens on random days. Some weeks will go by with no problem. Then, it happens 2 or 3 times in the same week.
Very frustrating.
This happens to me all the time... have to re-enter the email and password on every reboot on most machines. It's really bad because I have a very long password, and on the boss' computer he just gives up and hits close, and his system never gets backed up.
Apparently Pogoplug requires that we enter our password every two weeks for security reasons. Please join me in lobbying Pogoplug to give us a way to disable this unwanted "feature"!

My wife doesn't use her login on the home one (I have two) anymore because of this.
My windows 7 box seems to work correctly. Do not have to re-login. My wife's Vista box asks her to re-login after every reboot.
I deleted the ppf entry in the registry based on something i read on here and now its stuck on Active Copy selection screen and doesnt go past it!
Agree that pogoplug seems to "forget" about the sgtored login every 20 days or so. I have configured a task to start pogoplug (ppfs.exe) at boot time to make it available to all the users of my home w7 machine but every now and then I still have to refresh the login manually to make it work.
Anyone knows about a command line parameter to provide for user/password?
I don't know if this will help, but I'll mention it just in case. I use recipe software called BigOven and it also had the ability to remember passwords. Every so often it would lose the data and I tried to do some research into what was happening. I use Cleanup software such as Window Washer, CCleaner, FCleaner
and BleachBit. When the system rebooted, it caused the file Index.dat to be deleted and apparently it must delete cookies etc in the process. This applies to IE8 in my case.
I just emailed support requesting they add Copy-Paste capability to the PogoPlug Drive Signon screen to spare hand tying the data.

I am disappointed big-time that this problem has lasted for such a long time. Not only do my PCs [Win XP] not remember my login info but the apps are written so that copy-n-paste won't paste. Please fix these unfortunate shortcomings PogoDudes.

I am also frustrated that I can't at least copy and paste my password (a long random one) from LastPass (or KeePass or Roboform... Insert your favorite password manager here).
I'm not expecting full auto-fill integration... JUST PLEASE GIVE US COPY AND PASTE!
I have opened a ticket with the help line for this issue. I've had a quick and laconic answer that it was a security "feature".
Come on...
I can understand that it's a default behavior to protect naive starters against themselves, but please, PLEASE, make it at least a configurable option. I do not need a baby sitter!
A great opportunity with pogoplug is that you can have a local drive shared on the internet. But it seems that you pogoplug engineers have used a lot of creativity to make sure it's as uncomfortable as possible:
- Password times out after 2 weeks
- pogoplug drive is not restored after computer goes to hybernate or sleep
Once again, I can understand that someone needs a nanny, but I don't! If I want the drive to be shared automatically to all the users of a given machine, please let me do so.
Phil, enthusiastic but frustrated pogoplug user.
Security doesn't explain why it doesn't allow Copy/Paste into the field. Long passwords are a great security feature and most people will use them IF we can paste the lengthy value into the field.
It doesn't seem like the posters are asking for the moon, so it is a bit worrisome to see no solution to this request for such a long time.
