I just got pogoplug and I cant stream any of my movies. I go to my webpage on pogoplug and look at the movies hit the play button and it plays for a few seconds but it is very choppy then it goes to the next movie. I read on this forum how if you transcode it wont do that but man that is taking forever I have 199 movies on my hard drive. Is there a setting or something I am doing wrong?

i have been transcoding for a month 24/7 and still have hundreds to go... i reckon for my 400gb hard drive (which is only partially movies) will take about 4 months to complete.

I raised a post about this a month ago but nobody responded to me... i have updated it again today so maybe i (and you) will get a response soon?

its taking about 3 times longer to transcode that to watch the file real time for me

That is crazy I have ORB as well and I can play without all this transcoding stuff. I thought that this pogoplug was going to make things simple but this transcoding makes me want to return it

you can watch them without transcoding if you do it through the Pogodrive application that you can download onto your PC / Laptop etc... (Or at least i can)

ok I will try that.

Also, you can use a true transcoding app such as Handbrake to pre-encode files. You can use the MP4 H.264 with MP3/AAC audio at an appropriate bit rate. You can then turn encoding off in My.Pogoplug and your files should be playable.
