I have two seagate dockstars (as they were on special < $50) and am quite happy with the products and the pogoplug service.

I do realise that in approx. 9 months time I will have to fork out and pay for the continuation of the internet pogoplug service. I have no issues with this as it does seem to work (I would like a transcoding/thumbnail reset option!) and development is currently continous, but that did get me thinking.

I seem to be accumulating laptops as the years go buy; and they end up on the shelf being wasted or as a test box for the latest version of linux. So, why not make available the pogoplug software, as a linux-based package that I could load up on the laptop. Same payment method as with the dockstar could cover the cost (?).

A laptop could be faster than the dockstars (transcoding etc) and may have wifi etc.

Just a thought.

Keep up the good work.

Cheers,
