i was initially excited about pogoplug but most of my music files are flac.
not encouraging to see that the above question was submitted in may of '10 and received no response. so no flac, and no support. not good.
I searched the flac related threads and never saw a definitive answer so I am wondering if the little Pogoplug media player that appears in the bottom left of your monitor when using your my.pogoplug.com portal will ever become a bit more feature rich? Also, if there are pictures assigned to a song or album file will those become more visible at some point if the user has those files available instead of the standard music note? Finally, will FLAC ever be supported. I love lossless audio but I can't get flac files to play. Is it me or will the play not read flac codec?
Thanks!
Richard
Archer,
I agree completely... much of the music I have loaded on my Pogoplug is in FLAC and it is very disappointing not to be able to stream it over my Droid 2. Especially when it doesn't seem to have any problem with MP3's ripped at 320K. I suppose the issue must be the size of the files, which typically are 10 times the size of MP3's ripped at 128K, but that point was not apparent when I purchased the device.
I hope future upgrades/updates will correct this problem in the near future... I really don't want to buy a 32GB card for my phone!
I'm with archer & wipster.
Maybe they're waiting for someone to write a Java or Flash FLAC player?
I concur. I want to see more robust support of lossless audio formats like FLAC, Apple Lossless m4a, WMA Lossless and so on.
