are you using the local software or the website? the local software shouldnt have any of those issues.
I'm trying to use the device as a NAS, essentially. But I"m running into difficulties. It appears that in order to work on a document the user must first copy it locally to their desktop environment, work on the document and copy back to the pogoplug "server".
We've tried to work on documents right from the server. But first it corrupted those files. After restarting the program, that appeared to go away. Then we had issues whereby a particular document was attempted to save and an error came up that the document was modified outside of the program, or something.
Then the main drive just disappeared. Boom!
We ran Disk Utility and repaired permissions, etc. and remounted. It's there now, but we're afraid to use it as a server.
The thing is this, the files reference other files. Either an Illustrator or InDesign document, so if you copy that file to a desktop, all those references become void and have to be relinked [a serious headache]. It's much more efficient to work off a server if possible.
I guess the question is: Do other people use these as servers in a small design studio environment? If so, what is the best workflow to avoid corruption? Is it possible to work directly from the server? If not, what is the point of this device? You can just attach to another computer and copy files, or even work from that more effectively.
Thanks for anyone's input!

Still, again, I"m getting from Illustrator, when attempting to open a file from Pogoplug:
Cannot open this file because the plug-in cannot understand this file?
This file [thankfully backed up several ways] opens fine from local drives. But Pogoplug, when opening this file, immediately corrupts it.
Is there something I'm missing here? Wasn't this system supposed to be easy? Very strange.
