One of the first things I did was try this on my Dockstar. My Bravia TV recognizes the device as a "media server", and can navigate both the file hierarchy and the hierarchy of metadata extracted from the files by the device. However it shows that there are no compatible files present in any context.
All the files in question are MP3, and Bravia could access them just fine when I ran the media server component of Windows Media Player on my PC.
My working theory is that since the Dockstar is running Linux the filenames, which all contain spaces, may be invalid. I'm not sure though because I can access them fine through WFS and even play the songs through the Pogoplug web interface. I've been meaning to perform a simple test of uploading or copying one of the files to a path containing no characters that are invalid in Linux filenames, but haven't gotten to it yet.

Has anyone successfully used a Sony Bravia Internet Video capable device to view media through the Pogoplug? I understand that the PS3 support is there, but I recently purchased an EX308 television and would love to know the streaming works.
I have tried using Null River Medialink for Mac OSX that supports PS3 with no luck....
@tizzo, No, my guess is POGO don't support full dlna standard. My new Bravia TV can find "pogo media server" but can't pull in any files. My only wish is if pogo team can't give us full dlna, if they can show us how to install mediatomb without breaking my.pogoplug functionality.
PS: Bravia TV sees mediatomb running on my NAS fine.
Sounds promising. I suggest you look at this thread:

A knowlegeable member there has been walking another guy through installing something called OptWare. Details are in the thread, but suffice it to say that it's a package manager for the distro running on the PogoPlug. It should allow you to install packages without breaking the PogoPlug functionality. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, but it sounds pretty straightforward. Check it out. I'd be interested to hear if you have any luck using it to get mediatomb running.
@tizzo: Worked like charm (altough not for faint of heart). Will post experiment details as new post for other people to follow (in day or two).
Installed both mediatomb (upnp) and minidlna. mediatomb can be seen by many devices and works fine but sony bravia still has problem. Apparently, braiva requires rigid dlna standards. At this point, I am not going to spend time on why NAS was working but mediatomb on dockstar does not work as minidlna works with sony bravia, tested only jpeg, all movies needs to be converted to format sony bravia's liking.
PS: my.pogoplug.com works fine too with all hacks in place :)
Excellent news! I just got Optware installed myself and noticed that minidlna is all nice and packaged ready to install, so I'm going to be giving it a try myself pretty soon. Thanks for posting.
