priortize this please...
I feel like the android users have been forgotten (I've seen numerous iphone upgrades) while the android version not only lacks in features but lacks in general use, a lot of android users have better phones than the original app was designed for... upgrade please? *Nexus One Owner.
Jed mentioned this about a month ago - Jed - how's it coming?

We are working on a new version of the Android app that fixes a lot of these issues (and adds some cool new features). We're hoping to release it in about a month.

Don't worry, we haven't forgotten about you :) We're still working away but want to make sure we get everything right before we release the new app. Our new iPhone app was released about 2 weeks ago, and we are making sure that the Android app has all of the new iPhone app functionality, and make sure it's optimized for the Nexus One and Droid.
I have PP V2 and a Nexus One on AT&T.
Even when I am on my home(pogo plug attached) network and using my nexus one on wi-fi, I have only been able to access/stream my music once. I can access my photos, but not my music. I just get a blank white screen. Is this a common problem with android or Nexus One, or do I need to contact support? Is there something I can do myself? This app has a lot of potential, but is unusable for me as of now.
Thanks
Got a new Pogoplug and once I got that running downloaded the Android app, tried it. It worked on first install, but does not appear to be constructed in parallel with the iPhone Appp... Sorry, just a newB reporting
I have the incredible and really want the app to work. I have a huge file of pdf's that I can see but do nothing with. Any more on the update to functionality?
We have a beta version of the app that's pretty close - anyone interested should email beta@pogoplug.com and we'll send it to you. We're hoping for release to the Android app marketplace next week.
I am playing with the beta that you sent me. On my iPod touch pogoplug app I can view and save pdf's. Maybe I am doing something wrong or need to have something else installed, but when I select the file to open, it goes to another screen, opens it and then gives me the option to save it locally to my touch. On my droid Incredible when I select the pdf to view it just gives me an option to delete or share. It does not try to view it and does not give me the option to save. How do I view and/or save pdf's to my SD card?
pdf viewing and saving would be a great feature to add to the application. I've added it to our list of features to look at adding. With enough support from other people here on the forum, the more likely it is to get added. There's no ETA for now, but I'd also like to see this.
For other files, you can hold down your finger on the file name to access the options to delete or share. We're going to add these options to the save option menu as well, for files that are viewable.
Did you hear the news? :)

Well, that was over a year ago now.
Has there been any progress on the Android app since then? I have little interest beyond curiosity in using Pogoplug to stream music or video on my phone. I have enough storage on my microSD card to carry all the media I want with me, without streaming it when I'm away from home. At home, I have better ways to listen to it.
What I want is to use my pogoplug to back up the files (and especially photos) on my phone (some of which I may then choose to share with others), and I can't see any way to upload more than one file at a time to my pogoplug, and certainly no way to automate the process (e.g. by having my pogoplug devices appear as a drive on the phone as they do on the desktop, so that I could use any backup software to copy files from my device to my pogoplug drive(s)).
A Google+ style option to automatically upload new photos when I'm on my home network would be great, but simply being able to upload multiple files and/or directories (or the contents of an entire SD card) manually would be a good start.

The new Android app is in beta. If you want to get involved with the beta program to try it out early, please send an email to beta@pogoplug.com. We're excited about the new release and would love to get your early feedback. Android is receiving a lot of attention and you'll start seeing the results soon.
Thanks. I have emailed beta@pogoplug.com
Any clues for general consumption about the new features in the forthcoming version?

This new build is a complete re-write that focuses more on stability of core features, rather than adding new ones. Once this build is rock-solid and released, we'll start adding some really cool new features and releasing updates on a more regular basis. We're taking the feedback from our beta users very serious and it's one of the main drivers of the feature roadmap.
@Jed Have you started sending out the Android software, yet? I had send you an email (Christian Holz). I'm just wondering...
We'll let you know as soon as we are ready for the next group of beta users. You should hear from us soon.
I would love to join the beta. If you guys need anyone else to test please let me know.
Please, tell me that the cool stuff are not the lack of the option to download a file to the phone! Long press only has the option to share?!
Yep. Downloading a file to sd card is not possible anymore. When I want to download a comic book file it doesn't recognize it and my only option is share it. So I cant use it.
With video it tells me, I don't have a video player (?) - androids own did the job well until now ...
What is the cover art bar on the bottom for? It shows covers for certain audio books, but when I click on it, it shows the jpg fullscreen rather than leading me to the audio file ...
With the latest update to the software, why can't I upload or download files? The main reason I purchased a NAS with pogoplug was for backing up my photos from my phone. Please help
All those features are coming with the next updates (in the coming days and weeks). The idea was to offer a more stable app than the current one, I have been told. Chris
