I have recently added a second hard drive to my Pogoplug as I wanted one to act as a backup to the other using Active Copy. All went well with the first 6 directories (out of 8), including one of 5.2GB and 500+ files. The 7th was 27GB and 5700 files and the Active Copy seemed to complete quite quickly. However, when attempting to set up the next Active Copy I got a message saying "An unhandled RPC exception occurred on method featureCommand: 500 [Unspecified server error]"..

After that, when clicking on the second drive, I got the following message:-

This drive is in read only mode.

You will be able to view all of the files and folders on this drive, but you will not be able to create, upload, or rename files and folders.

Click here to see how you can fix this drive.

After 'Clicking here', as requested, I got a message saying "This drive is not available." Sure enough, it now does not show up on my PC.

The two drives attached to Pogoplug are formatted ext3. Drive 1 is a WD My Book Essential 1TB. Drive 2 is a Hitachi Deskstar 500GB SATA2 in a USB2 enclosure. The latter drive has previously been working perfectly in one of my desktop PCs. My PC runs Linux Mint 8 Helena x64 Edition and I am using pogoplugfs. Prior to trying Active Copy, I had no problems reading and writing to the two drives.

Can anyone help with this, please?

Mr. King,

When you say the drive does not show up on your PC, do you mean it doesn't show up when you physically connect it to the PC, or when you mount the drive using the Drive App? If the latter, you should try unplugging and replugging the power cable on your Pogoplug to see if that brings the drives back. If the drives are no longer recognizable on your PC, please contact support so that we can open up a support ticket for this issue.

HI Nicky,

Thanks for that. It was the latter case and I did as you suggested. Having restarted "My Pogoplug" I see that there were 2000+ transactions pending and, as I write this, they are rapidly being processed and completed. That explains why the 27GB Active Copy appeared to complete so quickly - it was not, in fact complete.

Glad it's working for you now.
