@Alden,
Did you try emailing support? They are generally quite adept at helping users with issues like this and answer queries within hours; even on weekends :)
My pogoplug doesn't work. I'm getting errors saying "this file cannot be read or written" and I'm getting permission errors that say "you don't have permission to view this file" and then it erases all of my data.
I've tried to reformat in various ways, and it all keeps happening. I've tried different drives, same. Then, just when I think it goes away, it does it again, and again, and again.
I've gone through these forums and found similar issues, and it seems the only solution is to send it back and get another. Well my thinking is, I shouldn't have to send it back and get another. Shouldn't this product work like you say out of the box? What a pain.
Trouble is, it's not working, and I don't have the time or patience to deal with BS like this. I'm very disappointed and will no longer use the faulty and extremely unreliable product.
I guess I could have, but I was in the middle of a job with a very quick turnaround, and this thing REALLY screwed me. I thought I could rely on it, and also told my client they could rely on it, and that wasn't the case. Good thing I still had dropbox, a service that just WORKS.
At this point I'm lucky to have kept the client. Stupid me for relying on it without testing it out first. It's clearly got a long way to go. The manufacturer should be careful when they say "plug and play", because that is absolutely 100% not the case with the pogoplug.
Sent it back and awaiting refund.
I have the same problem here. It always says error code -36 when I try to copy a larger file (~ 8GB). This thing doesn't work properly. Disappointing.
I'm considering sending it back as well.
