Installing Samba is pretty easy, actually. Just goto http://plugapps.com/ Follow the Getting started guide and continue with the Samba guide. Worked just fine for me
Categories: Pogoplug Classic
Are there any plans to add native samba support? Im would sometimes like to access files on my plug on systems that I don't have the ability to install the drive application (also, don't want to mount as a drive on every system).
Thanks!
Unless I'm mistaken, the plugapps path means basically installing and booting a new OS from a USB drive/stick and then installing Samba. I can't speak for outlet, but I would prefer simply being able to install Samba.
Then again maybe I'm missing something :)

Well, Plugapps means installing several files with additions to the existing PogoPlug System. So you will be able to keep all the Pogoplug functionality you already got and in addition be able to install what ever application you like. If you have problems installing Samba let me know, it's really easy though.

I'll spend more time on the Plugapps site and get more informed, Thanks.
