I have had a pogoplug for about 6 weeks now and have had trouble with the transcoding. I'm not to sure if transcoding the video will let me stream,  but I know that I have transcoded the same videos at least a dozen times by now. the videos are in a mix of formats WMV, DIVX, and a few in the QT/MP4 format. is there a way to properly convert them, im a little tired of seeing just the 10 seconds of the videos.

Thanks

The my.pogoplug site will transcode them to the correct format to stream from the website. You just have to turn it on. Are you trying to stream from there or via the Pogoplug drive program?

@smarti1347 - I can help you with - give this a try
1) Log into http://my.pogoplug.com and go to the settings screen - you'll see 4 menu choices on the left side - click "Media Settings".

2) There are two sections here - the first one is to allow your drives to be seen by an Xbox360, Playstation, or FreeAgent Theatre+. Ignore that unless you're trying to stream to one of those consoles.

3) The second says "Your Pogoplug creates previews of pictures, movies and music from the files on your hard drive to make sure that you can view and share them across all web browsers and mobile devices." There, next to the name of your device (if you haven't changed it it says "Pogoplug" is a linked called "settings" click that and a list of your drives will pop up under the heading "Media Processing Options"

4) You will see a list of your drives here with three options; click the drop down next to the one that says "Allow Pogoplug to optimize videos for playback:" and change it to "Auto-generate full transcode".

5) Close the Media Processing Options dialog, and that's it! Your videos should start to transcode in about 1 min. You will be able to tell by clicking the "refresh" link under "Preview videos when hovering over video thumbnails" The first thing that should appear is an item called "scanning media" - once that finishes your videos should start transcoding.

Hope that helps!
