Captions on photos would be great. Actually, the ability to add comments on any kind of file would be great!

Although I don't really share photos, I think these are pretty solid suggestions. If PogoPlug wants to position itself as a cloud file/photo sharing alternative, then theses should be considered necessary features. If Pogplug is just aiming for NAS alternative, then maybe not so much.

Hey folks,

Good suggestions on photos! You cannot reorient your photos or add captions to them from the Pogoplug web interface. As Brandon has suggested using another application to do so would be what we'd suggest for now. Using the Drive App and Photoshop, Picasa, etc is how I generally edit my photos.

I have put your suggestions into the product backlog - thanks!

I also support the addition of photo captions and orientation.

Questions for Jon.QA:

1. In your comment you suggest using another application to do so. Are you implying that after adding a caption with another application they will show up on my pogoplug?

2. How does Pogoplug prioritize backlogged feature wishes? In other words, when can we expect our wished for features?

PogoPlug UI looks to be just steps away from a nice digital asset manager. If you can add keywords, captions, and tags. Then be able to search on these as well as Metadata, then were in business. I haven't purchased the PogoPlug, but would for business immediately if these options were available. I looked at the Biz as a replacement for our FTP server, but for $300 we'd like to get a few more features out of it.

I understand that this might not be its intentions, but it would sure be a wonderful addition.

I'd also like an ability to add and view comments on pictures. That's the number one reason why I haven't migrated my family's photos to pogo plug or recommended it to my extended family. Ideally, this would use the EXIF caption area that Picasa uses for captions. Additionally, it would be nice to include facial recognition tags.
