Hey Folks,

We are actively working on the login/500 Error that many of you have reported. http://my.pogoplug.com is currently down as we investigate. As soon as we have it back up I'll post back to this thread.

We apologize for the inconvenience and we're working to resolve the problem as quickly as we can.

Thanks!
Jon

Hey everyone

http://my.pogoplug.com is back up. The various problems that people were seeing that showed up as 500 errors as well as login errors have been resolved. Our engineering team was alerted when the problem showed up and went to work immediately to resolve it. We certainly regret the inconvenience this service outage has caused, and definitely appreciate the quick responses here and to our support team on this issue.

Thanks all!
Jon

"WOW" Thought I was crazy! Went out to see what happens with a login to my newly installed "Plug" from a "Golden Arch" Wi-Fi and my tethered cell. Nothing, simply nothing but a dislike for my attempts.  Got back to the Pogoplug and found the same login issue.  I tried to SSH into the unit and that DID work!  I even pulled the plug on the unit thinking that might help.  Nada!

So, by accident I found that there is a place to learn what is/isNot happening.  Thanks for posting this notice.

Maybe a banner could be put on the my.pogoplug.com page with a link to greater details?  It was only by luck and sheer frustration that I found this note!

Hey pJim - sorry to hear that we made you question your sanity. Your point on messaging on the page (and something that goes out to all the clients (web, mobiles, etc) is a good idea and a point well taken.

Thanks!

I'm back to playing learning the "phos" and "phas" of HTTPS with the "Plug." It will be a simpler approach than a desk/lap computer with a home grown adaptation of what you have already done for just a few bucks and no investment of my time so I can focus on what I am supposed to be doing.

Well, back to playing instead of sleeping or working (grin!)

I'm curious to know, because of the problem, what functions were unavailable and which ones would still work?

I ask because one of my concerns is the requirement for a persistent Internet connection. What I'm afraid of is a situation like this makes the plug useless until service is restored.

So basically for me, the question is when this server(s) was down, could I:

Stream music within my network?
Backup my computers to the plug, within my network?
Admin the plug, within my network?

Thanks and I echo the thoughts about notification. As a technical support manager, I can appreciate the delicate balance between having your technical team working to fix the problem and having them constantly answering questions.

Finally, consider twitter as an option as well.
