@peterD,
You've asked this question in several places, so I'll answer here and post the same answer elsewhere. You are correct that the only placed where one can sign up for an account without having a Pogoplug enabled device is through the share link. We did this because without anything shared to you it doesn't make sense to have an account - there's nothing there for you.
Just confirmed that the link that appears in the dialog "This link will expire after 2 weeks. Click here to create a Pogoplug account so you can always access these files." appears to be working for me - is that not what your sharee is seeing?
Finally, you should be able to make a shared directory full access as soon as you enter the email address - there should be a drop down next to the email address that says "View/Download" - the other option there should be "Full Access". There is no "Full Access" option for an individual file.
Hope that helps!

How do you give permanent access to someone for the folders you have authorized that they can share? The full-access field is not available until after email notification is sent. When user visits the shared folder they get notification that access is only good for 2 weeks. The link at the top to set up an account so access is permanent doesn't work.
I have been having problems with the link in the invitation e-mail. I put the details in the post below.
I have been having problems with that link. The e-mail comes through fine and the dialog, "This link will expire in 2 weeks Click here...." is clear. However, the link when you click "Click here" does not work!
I have had a few people asserting that the link wasn't working and until now I just figured it was their browser or a pop-up blocker. But, I just tried it myself and for sure the link does not work. Any help would be appreciated.
RB1: Pogo has admitted it's a bug and is working on a patch to fix it, supposedly this week
@RB1 - so far we believe that issue is isolated to Internet Explorer - have you seen it in a different browser?
Everyone I have talked to about this is using Internet Explorer. A few are using IE 7, but most are using IE 8 - neither appear to work.
Most of our clients have had the same problem. We started with Pogoplug about 2 weeks ago. We notified all of our clients and created shared folders for each one of them. All was looking pretty good, until our clients started calling one by one telling us that they could not open an account. We have experienced it ourselves as well. Our clients can download the images BUT it takes a looong time. Unfortunately, we had to re upload all of our files in our previous storage online system and send all of our work through it. Any thoughts on how long will it take for this issue to be fixed?
Hello folks - new patch of the website is up - should fix the IE problems you've been seeing - pls let us know if it doesn't!
Experiencing the same problem here, not happened before today. Reset Pogoplug did not solve the problem. Our new Team Member cannot access the project files this way...
Scenario:
Admin invites new user (full access, login required)
New user receives mail, clicks link
Browser shows pogo-style-templated page, without any files or way to login/create account.
Any help would be appreciated!
EDIT: disabling "login required" solves the problem, however I still think it is a bug?
Sander - that could be a bug - when you have login required the user should get a pop-up asking them to sign in - perhaps new users' pop-up blocker is very aggressive? If you could put my.pogoplug.com on your safe list that might work.
If that don't work, what's the browser and OS? We can try to look at it here.

Thanks for your response!
I've checked for pop-up blockers on top of the default blockers included in the browser, it was my guess too, but no result there... I've tried different machines, Windows XP SP3 and Ubuntu, on both both Chrome and Firefox (latest editions). Hope this helps you to reproduce the error, I'd really like to leave the nifty 'Login required' enabled by default.
Kind regards,
Sander van Hooft
I am seeing the same problem. Users receive the email in gmail or hotmail and when they click on it, a new page opens with pogoplug header/frame and nothing else.
Browsers tried so far with same issue: Chrome v6.x, Firefox 3.5, Firefox 3.6, Firefox 4.x beta, IE 8, IE 7
We are able to reproduce this in house and are investigating a fix. Stay tuned.
When i created a test share for web view only for a folder share.... after logging out and then clicking on the link in the email, the user is able to DOWNLOAD and also there is no link to sign up for an account - all it says is "click here to login for more options" or something like that.
Can you please help me?
finally, for the custom mail settings, it saved a change i made to the custom email and when i revisit the custom email page and send the email, it is accurate, however, if i want to EDIT what i currently have, in the text box, only loaded is a portion of my email. the rest of it isnt there just the first paragraph and it wont let me change it anymore.
How can i fix this?
Media is still processing during all of these problems, but would this be what is causing them?
Many thanks!
Zaggas, I responded to your problem with Web View Only shares in a different thread. Please see http://www.pogoplugged.com/forum/thread/14606/Web-view-only/#7511
Regarding your issue with Custom Emails, we are aware of this issue in house and are working on it.

That's great news, please post back here if there are any developments!

I'd also like to add that the custom emails are ONLY working for my registered email address, in addition to the text not showing problem. Can you please fix this also?
Thanks.
