Nope. No way to do this. If you have a serial cable, you can try reflashing it manually though. Look in the developer forums for instructions.

Is there anyway to do a factory reset for the pink guy? I think i bricked mine attempting to install open pogo and/ or plug apps base. I no longer get an IP on it. I noticed there is a small button on the inside, but pressing it only seems to reset the device. I think if i could get in with a serial cable i would just need to cleanup the rcS file as that is all i modified. PS if it isn't obvious, I'm pretty new to linux. Any help is appreciated.
If you think it's bricked contact support@pogoplug.com - they'll help you get back and running. Don't feel bad - you're not the first to do this :)
I did send an email to support on it already, hoping they would let me return it, as i only got it 2 weeks ago. Still waiting to hear back. I don't have a 3.3v serial cable, but dont mind trying to flash manually once i get one. As to what caused it, probably a combonation of me doing the wrong things. I have a v1 that i got about 6 months ago, and had successfully installed openpogo on it in order to create a samba share. When i got this one, i went right back to those instructions, not realizing it wasnt for the v2 pink one. I got all the way to starting the script, but then i saw the warning. So im not sure if that changed anything or not. Then i attempted plugapps base, which seemed to work. I installed samba and set up my shares. However when i woke up the next morning, i couldnt connect to my shares. I decided at that point that openpogo must be more reliable and then did the install for that. Then after it wouldnt work, i think i tried again to re-install over top. In all this im sure i screwed something up.
Jed, we really do need a way to restore the devices to their factory default firmware out here in the field

@Pogoskins where did you buy the cable ?? i need one for restore my pogoplug too...
You'll have to make a cable yourself. Most people start with a CA-42 cable ($3 from eBay) and grab a connector from the link above (or look around this forum). Then you hook it all up and hopefully it works.
Yes i got mine from ebay. It was sold as "RS232 TTL converter cable kit" I paid $12 in order to get one quicker from someone in North America, versus HK or China. It was just a circuit board attached to a serial plug. I found a connector that worked in my junk bin. Then i matched the pins up and soldered the wires into the board. Not exactly plug and play, but not very difficult. Just make sure the cable you get is compatible with 3.3v signals. I didnt actually flash mine back to factory, i just made a change in order to get it back online. I would like to reflash, but i am hesitant to do so. I dont know if files posted in the download section are only for the v1 plug. I have the v2 pink.

A friend has suggested this item for people that haven't a serial port (laptops, etc) is the same that Pogoskins said but it have a mini-USB plug (Pololu USB to serial converter)

@Pogoskins I have the cable, what do I do now? I can see the file system plugging it to my computer?
I used windows xp to connect. If you are using the same, start hyperterminal, connect on the proper COM port at 115200. Once you power up the pogoplug you will see a bunch of output from it as it goes thru its startup procedure. after it's booted up, hit Enter and it will give you a prompt. If you made a backup rcS, i would suggest restoring it and then rebooting. That fixed mine.
I'm solve it. Thanks for everything @Pogoskins My Pogoplug is running again. finally I use the Pololu USB to serial converter and gtkterm (hyperterminal for Ubuntu). Now I'll try to re-install plugapps...
I have a pink pogo plug v2 i installed plugapps linux dist. all went well i can still access my pogo plug using putty i can log in using ssh and execute commands. Is there a way of restoring it using similar methods used to install uboot and plug linx with out the serial cable.
I had the same problem and messed up my pogoplugs !!! Its basically the same problem :( I am also a newbey....Can you please tell me if I can use the DKU-5 cable and do I need the Pololu USB to serial converter ?
I need some step to step help, if anyone can provide a generic overview
