Hi. Don't worry - your drives will spin for a while after you attach them to Pogoplug and this is normal. Your Pogoplug is indexing your drive and creating thumbnails and video transcodes. When this is done the drives will stop spinning, although it can take some time if you have lots of pictures and videos.
During this time nothing is sent out of your home - everything stays local, so there is issues with using any of your upload bandwidth.
Regarding the Facebook issue, please contact support@pogoplug.com and they'll walk you through setting up your Facebook share.
i hv just gotten my pogoplug today, and hv 3 queries to ask:
1. i hv 2 x 1TB harddisks plugged into this pogoplug, and it's has be running since 2 hrs ago.. each has abt 500GB of data.. how long will this running of HD be going on? is this step necessary?
2. i try to share my photos in one of the shared folder to facebook. but nothing shows up in the facebook website..? why? 1. gotten the folder i wanted to be shared. 2. under more share option, i ticked facebook and nothing happened after that when i check my profile in facebook. But i did this whole processes when the HDs are still mounting or indexing...
3. When mounting or indexing, will it takes alot of upload data bandwidth, ie it's uploading or downloading thru internet? i'm concern becos i'm running on wireless 3G internet with only 10GB data every month.
Pls advise. tks.
i hv raised a query to the support dept, hopefully they will reply soon on the issue with posting of photos in facebooks.
Btw, will pogoplug work with Drobo under both Window Vista and Mac OS operating systems? will it recognise as 1 drive(4TB) or 4 (4x1TB) drives?
Yes, your Drobo will be available under both Windows and Mac with the Pogoplug drive app. If you haven't already downloaded it, go to www.pogoplug.com/downloads.

thanks Jed, so will it read the 4x 1TB as one hard drive, or as 4 individual HD? btw, i hv yet to purchase a Drobo, wanted to ask these questions before i jump into buying the Drobo. cheers!
@viperviper - the Pogoplug will recognize the Drobo as as many drives as the Drobo reports. In the most common configuration that would be a single drive with less-than-4 TB total, since it has its own internal RAID.
