I wouldnt really think so, as USB 3.0 connected devices are now just coming out. You have to understand the product lifecycle, PogoPlug 2.0 was probably already being designed when PP1.0 came out to us users. Just like any other company they have to get approvals from various gov. organizations before releasing a product for sale.
I'm sure in future models USB 3.0 will be considered, however, you also have to realize that this is a network device, so that is a limiting factor as well.

As this is a brand new version of the original design, I seems astonishing that the opportunity hasn't been taken to support USB 3.0. This model is going to be out-of-date so quickly!
