TEA_BAG_MASTER said: I bought pogoplug for its ease of use for my family who live hours away. They have been having some problems downloading files over 4gb in size. Sometimes one of these files will stop at 2gb, incomplete and corrupted, why?
Don't know why that would happen. This I would recommend you contact support@pogoplug.com
Another issue is i am not sure as to how my guest access my pogo. I share the folders with them and they receive an email with a hyperlink to my pogo. How long do the hyper links stay active?
Two weeks unless they register with an email/password.
From their help page at http://my.pogoplug.com/help/index.html?sec=webap_share
"Note: The link to the shared folder will expire 2 weeks from the time it was generated and sent. If the user it is being shared with has not created an account and password they will no longer be able to access the share. If the owner of the share removes them from the share list and re-adds them, a new link will be generated and sent with a 2 week expiration. "
What does the "refresh" button under the "my library" possibly void/reset the link? i dont see how this is possible, i figured the refresh was just to refresh the view of my shared folders. am i wrong?
Nope that is what it does. Refreshes the view. Will not change what you have shared.
I read in another thread her on the forum " Allowing others to download multiple files at one time" that it was recommended that clients/downloaders could install the "drive app" to their computers. I'm not sure how this works.
This works the same way as the the webpage does it allows them only access to your shared files. After they have created a name/password on the web site.
Once they have done this they can access the drive as "P" on thier computer when they run the Pogoplug drive software.
I need to make it as easy as possible for my family to dl from me.
Just have them click on the register link on the website. They can then create their own user name and password and then access them from a bookmark at any time.
BTW, you can also have the site send them an email whenever you add files. So they don't have to look to see whats new, they will be notified.
i have recently purchased and received WD TV Live. I am running cat6 cable throughout my home. i have not hooked up my WD TV Live up to my network yet. Just curious if pogo will recognize the harddrives i have attached to my pogo.
Doubtful but I don't have one to really say for sure.
