Hi -
I have created a folder and shared it for transferring files. Unfortunately, the party I have shared it with, and I have done tests with others, cannot upload file. They get an error that says "failed" on the file being uploaded. I tested this myself and have experienced the same problem.
I have checked access, and for those with upload privileges there access is "Full."
Has anyone else encountered this? Why does it happen?
The work around is to direct them top download the little app; however, I expect the product to work the way it is supposed to. Please advise!
Thanks!
Mike
I am also having problems uploading files to the drive, as well as those I have provided full access to. I can locally place files on the drive to be accessed, but cannot upload them remotely. Help.
Although I can successfully email a document to my PogoPlug, I am unable to remotely UPLOAD files to it and none of the people I provided access to are able to UPLOAD files as well. We get "failed" when trying to upload to the PogoPlug. Help.
One thing I should also mentioned, for the files I am able to see the progress bar finish and appear to upload on, they never show up on the PogoPlug. Very strange.

Usually, a clean power cycle of Pogoplug and your attached drive takes care of this:
Safely eject the drive from my.pogoplug.com
Physically detach the USB drive
Power cycle Pogoplug, wait for a solid green led
Attach the USB drive
Of course, only the owner of the Pogoplug can login to safely eject the drive.
If uploads continue to fail, please contact Support and we'll look into it further

Chris, I did the power cycling as you asked and followed the procedures at least three times. I still however cannot upload to the device from the Web, and neither is one other person I provided full access to. However, I can email files to upload@mypogoplug.com and they do make it to the device. Strange. Thanks for trying to help me out with this.
Well, since posting my initial messages, and following the directions Chris had posed, I still have the same problem. However, after some more troubleshooting, using different computers, having different friends try and upload, and going to coffee shops and using different computers I can better describe what is happening.
1) Uploading files to uploads@mypogoplug.com work and the files do show up there, most of the time anyway.
2) I can see the drive, download, play music, whatever remotely both inside my home, as well as remotely.
3) Using the client inside my home works great and file transfers to and from the drive using the shared P: drive created by the client work fine.
3) Simply cannot upload to the drive online remotely. Either the status bar hangs at 32.0k or if it is a smaller file it looks like it may have uploaded ok but no files show up. I have even had it show larger files look like they uploaded ok but they NEVER appear on the drive remotely.
HELP! Has anyone else ever run into this problem???? I have even taken the original 16 gig flash drive off and connected a 1TB drive to the PogoPlug seeing if changing the media would help. The only thing I have not changed is the router, but I figure if it receives emailed files and I can access files remotely (downloaded but not uploading) that is not the problem. I even updated my router's firmware and still no joy.
HELP! I really want to make this work and looking for other suggestions.

I have a similar problem.
I try to upload a movie, and it finishes immediately, but it uploaded the file as a zero length file.
The only way I have gotten around this is to disconnect the drive, connect it directly to my main computer and delete all of the pogoplug information, which of course deletes all my thumbnails.
Wilbur, I actually can now upload OK, as long as I don't use Internet Explorer 8. I don't know if it has to do with IE8, or the FLASH type interface they have set up for the PogoPlug to upload. I did some testing the other day eliminating each individual variable and I found all works well IF I use the different, plain interface that is used when I upload with the FireFox browser. As I said, I don't know if it is related to IE8, or the Flash interface setup for it, but FireFox works fine for me and that is what I will use when I go to upload files to the drive. Thanks for responding to my message. -Russ
I an running Linux, and tried with both Chrome and Firefox, the upload problem was the same. In general, when using Chrome there are lots of hangs and timeouts. The uploads are almost useless, it times out when trying to select the files.
I knew there was something going on when I could send a file to upload@mypogoplug.com in an attachment and it would end up on the drive, but yet the Flash interface it used for uploading would hang, or if it did work disappear but yet the file would not show up on the drive. I cycled the unit, switched drives, and then tried a different browser at the coffee shop down the street using my netbook and was surprised that it worked with Firefox. The interface to upload and status bar were noticably different. So, in essence, I solved my issues, however, I would like to use IE in the future and hope that the interface used with it gets updated so it will work for me down the road. I do like Linux, but at work forced to use Windows so it must work there for me. Thanks again for your feedback.
I confirmed the problem had to do with the Flash uploader being used in IE. When I disabled that add-in, the uploads worked fine. So now I can upload successfully in either IE or Firefox. I suspect an updated version of the uploader will fix this issue.
Check your security settings & turn off "Use full security sessions".
My brother & I were troubleshooting the failed uploads using our secondary email accts which were working, but out primary email accts weren't when we noticed the secondary accts weren't using full security sessions. Turning off Use full security sessions on our primary accts, we were able to upload.
I have the same problem but did the opposite of what you suggested Jade and it worked for me. I'm running a linksys router and my pogoplug is running FIRMWARE 2.5.6.
