Okay, I am new to PogoPlug and looking to develop apps.  I think this is cool tech but am encountering a simple problem from word go.  When attempting to connect to http://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api I receive the following:

There was an error downloading 'http://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api'. /> The request failed with the error message:
--
{'HB-EXCEPTION': {'ecode': 602, 'message': "Not implemented"}}
--.
Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved: '
http://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api'. /> The content type text/xml;charset=utf-8 of the response message does not match the content type of the binding (application/soap+xml; charset=utf-8). If using a custom encoder, be sure that the IsContentTypeSupported method is implemented properly. The first 569 bytes of the response were: '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:ce="http://schema.cloudengines.com/schema/2008"><soapenv:Body><soapenv:Fault><faultcode>ce:Client</faultcode><faultstring>CEError</faultstring><faultactor></faultactor><detail><ce:CEError><ce:errorCode>602</ce:errorCode><ce:errorDescription>Not implemented</ce:errorDescription></ce:CEError></detail></soapenv:Fault></soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope>'.
The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again.

 I am using .NET 2008 Pro for test purposes.  What up?

 Thanks,

Drew

I am not all that familiar with all the web apps settings but from what I read here http://pogoplug.com/dev/web.html you would use the API to do certain things. For instance Ηttp://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api/getVersion would get you the app version they are running.

Ηttp://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api/loginUser?email=test@pogoplug.com&password=test
would get you certain info like the valtoken, email, etc.

There are other examples on that page.

Yeah, I read that too.  Doesn't matter what that says if the web service is not running; and quite frankly, that is what I suspect is going on.  After reading through the forum, I am slowly coming to the conclusion that Pogoplug just isn't ready for prime time.  I hope to be proven wrong.

I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish.
If you click here http://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api/getVersion you will get {"version":"LINUX connect-server - 2.0.1"}

If you go here http://service.pogoplug.com/ You get the same thing as http://my.pogoplug.com so the web service should be running.

Hmmm... Can you tell me if there is a WSDL associated with this service? And where that might be? Thanks.

Okay; getting closer... If I try to run http://service.pogoplug.com/svc/api/getVersion in Internet Explorer I receive an error. Try that through Mozilla and I receive the message BC shows above (LINUX connect-server - 2.0.1). Since my Dev environment is Microsoft, and they are usually pretty good about following standards (Web Service), I am a little perplexed. I should be able to reference your services in my Dev environment, and away I go. Not so. Will keep trying as I might be missing something. If anyone has some feedback (other than changing my Dev environment, cause that's not happening), I would appreciate it.

This tech has some amazing potential and hope it is me. Thanks.

Why is this in PlugApps?

February 17, 2010 8:56 PM

Uh, where should it be?

February 17, 2010 10:06 PM

Sorry drew, I thought a mod moved the topic in here. I guess it should be in either Mypogoplug or General Development. PlugApps is a 3rd-party firmware for the Pogoplug.

No, but you're right, General Development probably would have been better. Are you developing for this platform?
