The pogoplug app will work, as the iPad has backwards compatibility with the new device. Apps will be rendered in the same original size, unless you enable the 2x pixel resize. App developers are able to make new apps that take advantage of the bigger screen as well, without having their users enable the double pixel resize. What i would like to see is Cloud Engines take advantage of the bigger size with regards to transcoding of the video as all video transcoded now is done for smaller screens.
Of course in a perfect apple world, it would play other codecs by default... I'll be purchasing a iPad when it comes out myself.. Would love to be reading some of my books on the iPad.
As well, there is rumors that iOS (the operating system on the iPhone) will allow some sort of file transfer sandbox, that in turn would allow apps to download files to be opened by other apps. So... If you needed a file from your home network (an iWork file for example) you could use the PP app to download it, and open it in the iPad version of iWorks) or, of course, some media files...

I am a moderator on Poggoplugged's sister site the Slingcommunity.com and since the announcement of the iPad there has been tons of dicussions there as to whether the Sling Box will work on the new iPad.
This made me curious and am wondering if the Pogoplug software for the iPhone will work with the iPad or if it there will need to be a new app for the iPad and Pogoplug.
From what I am seeing most apps for the iPhone will work on the iPad also but that doesn't necesarily mean that the Pogoplug app will.

Does this work? I cant seem to copy a iWork file from pogo plug to my iPad. Any ideas?
The issue with that is how iWork reads the files. You can probably copy the file to your iPad from the Pogoplug app but iWork might not be able to find it. Unfortunately, I think the only way is to sync the document through iTunes or iWork's online service. This isn't a limitation of the Pogoplug but rather of iWork.
I saw this video ( http://www.facebook.com/#!/video/video.php?v=1420873489267&ref=mf ) and in it, they talk about an ipad app, so hopefully sometime soon there will be an ipad specific app. With better video scaling.
Nice video... Has there been any updates since? iPad version of the app would be great!
We are also waiting for an ipad's app. The iphone app is so small. I have a question I can't open a document (.doc) with Numbers ??? or it is because a have a password on my document ??? Sorry fo my english, I'm french ...
A native iPad and iPhone (iOS 4) app is coming - Pogoplug is looking for devoted beta testers, too:

Can't wait for the Pogoplug iPad app.
One quick question. When I press download on the PP app. where does it download on the iPad? I need for my GoodReader or other apps to pickup the PDF file etc. that I downloaded from PogoPlug. Thanks.
Pogoplug can not be installed on iPad. iOS is 4.2.1. Is there anyone have
the same problem?

I just installed the latest version of the PogoplugHD app on my iPad and it's working better than ever (I'm talking about the 2.03 version, released on 2/21/2011). In fact, I can now stream video over 3G to my iPad, which I was never able to do with the earlier version of the PogoplugHD app. Previously when I tried to play video the app would just enter the playback screen and wait a short while and then return to the file/media list. Now with the v2.03 release it played every video file I tried (well, as long as the bitrate was close to my ISP's uplink speed).
Only one MAJOR problem still remains, if you switch between 3G and WiFi after you've used the Pogoplug app you need to go into the iPad's launch bar/task manager and quit the Pogoplug app since it will be suspended under iOS's quick start or multi-tasking mode. If you don't do this then you may not be able to access your files since it appears that the Pogoplug app doesn't re-intialize or even check which network it should be using when coming out of a suspended state. Yes, it's a hassle, but at least there is a workaround to keep the video playing.
I can only play ten second previews with both iPad programs. Why this silly limitation.
I am having the same problem with as levytv on my Ipad2. Can someone please let me know if there is a way around this?
I installed the iPhone app on a relative's iPad because Pogoplug HD app is not working. I'm talking about the last release of the iPhone app: v4.1
It works quite ok, but the app crashes when I attempt to open a picture that is shared with me or that I share to someone else.
Although somewhat slower I'm using the web interface to browse files on the iPad now.
