In short... no. You can stream them from within the iPhone app, and if you jailbreak your phone have them run in the background using backgrounder. The reason you can not upload/download mp3's to your iphone is Apple does not allow developers access to do this.
Rumors floating around in the Apple world is iOS (the iPhone operating system) is going to allow some sort of shared files in their version 4 release. Of course this is all rumors now, so mabey then you may be able to - however even if this does happen, I don't think it will allow you the ability to import the track in to iTunes on the iPhone.

Hi
I am new to pogoplug and thinking about buying it, but is it possible to download mp3s from my usb drive connected to pogoplug right on the iphone? If so, where do these files go on the iphone? Can I then copy those downloaded files to another computer or upload back to the pogoplug usb drive, maybe in a new folder? I am thinking about using this method to bookmark / separate the music I like while I am listening on the go....
Thanks!
