Can pogoplug read a drive that isn't physically connected to the pogoplug?  Over the network

No, it can't do this currently. You can run Active Copy to copy files from a network connected drive to the Pogoplug automatically, though. You just can't share a non-connected network drive on the Pogo, has to be connected via USB.

So I have a blackarmor nas, I believe the USB ports on there are just for adding additional storage to it, so connecting a USB cable from pogogplug to the nas this way would do nothing then?

W/ active copy, assuming it just copies from the NAS to connected storage on the pogoplug (can't just do this w/ no drives connected to pogoplug right?)

Thanks

Hey MikeM,

You are correct - that configuration will not work. Pogoplugs generally won't work with NAS devices, only plain hard drives (or those that present themselves as a hard drive like a Drobo).

Great thanks for the replies. Figured it was a long shot. Still a great product though.
