Did you figure out what to do. Handbrake is not available for Ubuntu 10.04 so I am at a loss of how to encode.

I'm running OpenPogo on v2 Hardware (pink) and I am using rsync to move media from Ubuntu machines to a drive on our pogoplug. rsync does the job well (although it only works from the pogoplug, if I try to initiate it from an Ubuntu machine it dies with a "command not found" error).
After rsync completes, I then have to go to my.pogoplug.com and go to the settings page where I can then click on the button to rescan the drive for media. And then new photos and mp3 tracks will show up on the media page (and on my wife's iphone app).
Is there a way to rescan for media on a drive from the linux command line? Or is the only way via my.pogoplug.com? If there is such a command, I could automate the whole process by sticking it in cron or somesuch.
thx!
