Is it possible to password protect files that are available on the pogoplug?

Not sure what you mean. Are you afraid someone without the proper access can hack in and get to your files?

Nope - not at all. I'm setting up pogoplug to have a drive/storage be available to multiple users but those users (and myself) would like to keep that info private...make sense?

are other people going to have access to the root on the drive? and you and this select group have access to a subforum them?

if so, and what i did, was share the root with people you want to have access to the full drive, however share only subfolders to others... make sense?

For example..

root folder (private group)
-----------> folder 1 (private group - inherited)
-----------> folder 2 (group2, private group - inherited)
-----------> folder 3 (group2, private group - inherited)
-----------> folder 4 (group2, private group - inherited)

To the private group they see all, to the group2 (the other users) they only see the folders you share. Each group needs their own login on your plug..

Does this help?
