Hello:

I have tried two different drives in my PLUG, and none spin down when not in use. Not even after I shutdown my computer.

I tested each by connecting them directly to my PC, and they all spin down after a while when not used. This issue is specific to the Plug.

I tried a Lacie 320GB Porsche design and a Western Digital 500GB My Book.

Right now I just disconnected all and I am just using a couple of USB flash drives. I just can't stand the drive spinning 24/7. Power usage, drive life, noise, etc.

For those that had luck with this, can you list which drives worked for you and are spinning down?

UPDATE: I downloaded a firmware update from Western Digital, and my external disk is now doing a spin down after a few minutes. No luck with the LaCie drive. Thanks.
