Just a reminder, do NOT use/install OpenPogo on newer Pogoplugs. The original drick devices have only been tested, not the new Pink ones shipped before Christmas.

While there is no connection between OpenPogo and the amount of reported "dead" plugs on this forum and elsewhere, I can't be responsible for any damage Pogoplug v2 users do to their hardware or files by using OpenPogo. So don't use it on newer plugs!

There needs to be a separate forum for the Pogo-2 devices. What works with one doesn't necessarily work with the other. I would hope that the pinkos get their own forum - then all these warnings would not be necessary (and I'm a pinko)

I am under the impression, from Pogoplug, that the V2 units, aside from a new form factor and multiple USB ports, should function exactly the same as the V1 and have no other significant differences in hardware.

In fact, OpenPogo has been sent some units for testing as you can see from Pogoplug's post in this thread:

http://www.pogoplugged.com/forum/thread/12373/Who-Uses-OpenPogo/#2898

To the average end user who will not be using OpenPogo, the V2 is no different than the V1 other than form factor.

As such, I feel that for the time being, a separate forum for V2 hardware would be confusing for most. Discussions related to OpenPogo can stay, of course, in the OpenPogo forum, whether it's V1 or V2 related.

That being said, I'll always be happy to add a new forum if it so happens that other differences show themselves, and that the incoming volume of non-OpenPogo related - but specific to V2 - conversation becomes significant.
